The new Wharfedale Pro Typhon active loudspeakers have been designed around amazing features like Power, control, and “invincibility”
Typhon-AX8-BT is a 8” 2-way 720w Continuous active loudspeaker that is Bluetooth enabled. It also features all-new internal amplifiers that deliver over 300% more power than Titan 8 MKII.

Bi-amplification for Sound Quality with Crisper Highs and more Impressive Lows

The Typhon-AX8-BT also has the ability to Bi-amp meaning that each amplifier is perfectly matched to the driver it is connected to which leads to more defined sound quality with crisper highs and more impressive lows. Typhon possesses the ability to use conventional cooling and hence no need for an internal fan.

Typhon 8″ Small Box – HUGE Power

With Typhon-AX8-BT there is also a Bluetooth model with TWS stereo link mode allowing for complete, wire-free high powered stereo audio to cover the audience. Typhon-AX8-BT however also features a TWS STEREO LINK mode. This allows two Typhon-AX8-BT‘s to communicate with each other to create a stereo pair.

Custom Wharfedale Pro transducers have been chosen for Typhon

As with the 12” Typhon, the new 8” models use custom Wharfedale Pro drivers. The acclaimed IRIS X HF compression driver features a 1.75” voice coil, while the LF driver features a 2.5” coil with flat coil windings for enhanced cooling.

Typhon-AX8BT is built to Withstand Extreme Conditions

The cone material chosen is also moisture repelling, allowing a Typhon-AX8 to be used in extreme conditions. Typhon has tolerance against dust ingress and protection against splash water from any direction. Typhon to be used in damp or humid conditions

Wired connections

To allow for easy connection to ‘consumer’ level devices, Typhon AX8-BT featured standard domestic stereo RCA inputs. In addition, XLR / 6.3mm jack balanced combi connectors have been selected for both input channels.
